Limewater
INCI : Aqua, calcium hydroxide / Water, calcium hydroxide (Ca(OH)2)
Appearance: Translucent liquid. A small deposit of white calcium carbonate crystals sometimes forms at the bottom of the bottle (a normal and harmless phenomenon).
Method of obtaining : Lime water is obtained by mixing air lime with water. Once the lime is completely dissolved, the mixture is filtered. What then remains is the lime water (calcium hydroxide solution). It is entirely possible to make your own lime water by following this method.

Quality : Cosmetic quality
Origin: France
Lime water is the essential basic ingredient for making oleo-limestone liniments.
Composed of lime water and vegetable oil (generally in equal parts), liniments come in the form of a sort of emulsion having the consistency of a fairly fatty makeup remover milk, particularly gentle and protective. Used forever, oleo-limestone liniments are a perfect natural and organic alternative to care products for babies' bottoms and make-up remover milks . They are also widely used to treat cradle cap in infants.
Bonus: Liniments leave a protective (but not greasy) and acidity-regulating film.
When making your own cosmetics, lime water is also very practical for balancing the acidity of your preparations , just like baking soda.
CAUTION : Never use pure lime water on the skin. Its pH is very basic and could cause burns. Once mixed with a vegetable oil, a reaction and an emulsion are formed, there is no longer any danger (if the emulsion shifts, shake the bottle well to reform it before each use).
